The five modes explained
Each mode gives the AI different instructions, so pick the one that matches your goal:
- Standard — a balanced rewrite that changes wording and sentence structure while staying close to your original tone. Best all-purpose choice.
- Fluent — focuses on smoother, more natural flow. Great for text written quickly or translated, where sentences feel choppy.
- Academic — uses formal vocabulary and structured phrasing suited for essays, research papers, and reports.
- Creative — takes liberties with phrasing for a fresher, more distinctive voice. Useful for blog posts and marketing copy.
- Shorter — condenses your text by trimming filler and redundancy while keeping every key idea intact.
Paraphrasing vs summarizing
Paraphrasing rewrites your text at roughly the same length — every sentence comes back rephrased. Summarizing produces a much shorter version with only the main points. Use responsibly
A paraphrasing tool helps you express ideas in different words, but it does not remove the obligation to credit those ideas. If you paraphrase someone else's work, cite the original source — in academic writing, reworded ideas still require attribution, and skipping it counts as plagiarism even when the phrasing is entirely yours. Use this tool to improve clarity and vary your language, not to disguise borrowed content.
